World class athlete and international coaching sensation Eddy Matzger invites you to his home in Floyd, VA, to soak up some old-time mountain culture and bone up on your skating skills. Most come for 5 days and don't want to leave, but a 3-day option is also available.
Winning races on inlines since 1988 and running acclaimed instructional workshops since 1995, Eddy is ready to help you get excited about learning and improving, no matter what your age or ability. For 5 days, he'll expose you to essential skating techniques such as stopping, turning, pacelines, body alignment and the "double push," and be right there with you when the light goes off!

As a multiple NYC 100K champion, Eddy will show you up close how the hills and "hollers" of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains are essential fodder for his exploits. You'll have an opportunity to train on the very terrain that provided Eddy with success at the races, and in so doing improve your confidence and preparation for any of your own challenges.
Summertime in the mountains will agree with you. At 3000 feet elevation, Floyd offers a cool respite from the heat of the city, with summertime highs in the low 80's and nighttime lows in the 60's. Sit on the deck and let the stream serenade you. Jump in the Little River and picnic on her banks. Gaze at the blaze of the Milky Way across the night sky.
